Software Craftsman

Before coming to 8th Light in 2010 for an apprenticeship under Doug Bradbury, Cymen worked at regional Internet and Managed Services Provider on monitoring applications. In 2012 he accepted a position as a software craftsman at 8th Light.

While at 8th Light Cymen has learned to keep his programming focus on the now as opposed to the future. Too often projects that are overly focused on the future are bogged down as changes to the now inevitably affect the future. Focusing on the now requires open communication with both the client and fellow team members. A craftsman knows that good work now means less work later.

Outside of software, Cymen enjoys photography, cooking and the great outdoors of Northern Wisconsin.

He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2007) with a B.S. in Computer Science.
