For Justin, the classroom isn't the best place to learn the craft of programming. The classroom can teach you the language but you need experience and guidance to learn craft. 8th Light has provided both to Justin. Craftsmanship comes from paying attention to the small details, and embracing that level of detail in your work. 8th Light has put him in a team that shares that same excitement. No simple automated function is created automatically; it took a team to build it.

Justin completed an A.A. from Edison State College in 2009, but actually taught himself RUBY ON RAILS, HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Python. He spent several years as a freelance developer, social media manager, and consultant before apprenticing under Cory Foy.

Justin resides in Tampa, Florida and works out of the new Tampa 8th Light office. He enjoys hanging out in coffee shops, cooking, video games, and esoteric discussions
