Steve Kim, Software Craftsman

Steve Kim

Software Craftsman

8th Light Craftsman since December 6th, 2010

In his time at 8th Light, Steve has worked on Ruby on Rails based projects in the Health Care, Finance and Telecommunications industries. He has also developed on Android and Windows Phone 7 mobile platforms and is proficient with Java and Smalltalk.

Steve's experience has taught him that time is crucial for craftsmanship. Not just the time for writing code, but the time to test the program. A craftsman spends the time necessary to get the work correct. They care that all the details are correct in their own programs. They take the time to present their work in a manner that is useful to their fellow programmers. Any well-written software is the final product of hours of work and thought, time that he spends on the client's behalf.

Steve is the author of GNU Smalltalk Koans and has contributed to various open source projects.
